This website, nicoleannmaxey.com, is run by Nicole A Maxey Publishing in Vero Beach, Florida (“we,” “us,” “our”). This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you visit, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
Email list sign-ups. If you join an email list (for example, for book news, updates or companion videos), we collect your email address and anything else you choose to enter, such as your first name. Our email lists are managed by MailerLite, which stores your information and sends our emails on our behalf. We use it only to send you what you signed up for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave the list at any time. MailerLite may record whether emails are opened or links are clicked so we can see what is useful. Contacting us. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive your name, email address and message, and we use them only to reply to you.
Information collected automatically
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics (through the MonsterInsights plugin) to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last, the type of device and browser used, and roughly where visitors are located (city or country level). This helps us improve the site. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Jetpack. The site uses Jetpack, a WordPress service from Automattic, for basic visitor statistics and to deliver images faster through its image content delivery network (CDN). To do this, Jetpack may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the referring site. Automattic’s privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy.
Server logs and security. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running properly.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files saved in your browser. This site and the services above (Google Analytics, Jetpack, MailerLite sign-up forms and WordPress itself) may use cookies to remember preferences, count visits and understand how the site is used. We do not use cookies to sell your information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features may not.
Amazon and other retailer links
We may link to books and products sold on Amazon or other retailers. Some of these may be affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, we may earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. We don’t receive your payment details or personal information from those purchases.
Embedded content
Some pages may include embedded content such as videos or sign-up forms from other websites. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other site directly, and that site may collect data about you under its own policy.
How we use and share information
We use information only to run and improve this site, send emails you asked for and respond to you. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers named on this page so they can do their jobs for us, or when required by law.
How long we keep it
Email list information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to help you. Analytics data is kept according to the settings of the services above.

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email. You can also ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws, and we will honor them.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
